When the part number is unknown, the machine nameplate can provide the information needed to identify the correct parts catalogue, serial range or electrical version. A cropped or blurry photo can remove the most useful information, so photograph the complete plate straight on, in good light and at a resolution where every line is readable.
For compressors, capture: manufacturer, exact model, product or type code, serial number, year if shown, working pressure and any variant code. For motors, controllers, solenoid valves, fans and other electrical components, include voltage, frequency, phase, power and connector information where shown.
For dryers, capture the dryer model and serial number separately from the compressor. Refrigerant dryers and adsorption dryers can use different valves, controls, filters and service components even when they serve the same compressor room.
Best practice: send one photo showing the machine and one close-up of the full plate. If the plate is damaged, also send the machine model from the controller screen, service book, old invoice or manual. Never guess a serial number from a partially readable plate.
