Two parts can fit the same machine and still represent different supply categories. CSP therefore identifies product status in the quotation instead of using “OEM” as a vague quality label.
- Genuine / Original: supplied as a genuine part of the equipment manufacturer or its authorized supply chain, where verified.
- Manufacturer-Branded: supplied under the actual component manufacturer’s brand where the component manufacturer is known and the status is verified.
- Compatible Replacement: an independently supplied alternative intended for a specified application or reference.
- Status to Be Confirmed: used when the final supply source or branding must be verified before quotation.
A compatible part should never be described as original simply because it replaces an original reference. Likewise, a well-known component brand does not automatically mean the item is the compressor manufacturer’s original supply. Clear status protects both buyer and seller and makes commercial comparison more meaningful.
For critical applications, buyers should consider more than price: required specification, operating environment, service interval, warranty basis, traceability, availability and the consequences of downtime.
