A compressor part number is not always permanent. Manufacturers can replace an old reference with a new one, combine several references into a service kit, change a supplier, introduce a design revision or use different formatting in manuals and ERP systems. Distributors and compatible-part manufacturers may also publish their own references for the same application.
This is why CSP search is designed to tolerate common formatting differences such as spaces, dots and dashes where supported. A buyer may enter the number exactly as it appears on an invoice, manual, label or old package and still reach a linked record.
A cross-reference is a starting point, not proof of interchangeability. The correct replacement can still depend on compressor model, serial range, pressure version, voltage, material, dimensions or machine revision. When a superseded reference is known, the website should display the relationship clearly - for example: “You searched 12345678. Current linked reference: 87654321.”
Before ordering a critical part, compare the quoted reference with the machine information and technical requirements. If an old number appears in your maintenance records, include it in the RFQ even when you believe you know the new number.
Technical information is provided for identification and procurement support only. Always follow the equipment manufacturer’s service, safety and installation instructions.
